The h.wood Group brings LA “the Nice Guy” a lounge of course, but surprisingly for this group a restaurant located on La Cienega. Reservations only of course, bringing a Mafia vibe with a modern day Sinatra, Rat Pack twist. Partner, Adam Koral of h.wood group explains that the concept of The Nice Guy was initiated around their lengthy database of club goers, friends, family, and LA loyalists to the h.wood brand. He states that he wanted to design a lounge/restaurant setting where those at the h.wood group knew exactly who was dining with them nightly. Here in an article with Los Angeles Magazine, Koral tells interested prospects how to get an actual reservation.

The design of the Nice Guy is mid modern century with a 60’s touch weaved in. The entrance boasts two logos, Nice Guy Los Angeles on the wall and an embossed logo in gold within a white tiled floor upon entering the restaurant lounge. Here the hostess checks in guests who have made the reservation, if a reservation has not been secured there is no trying to get in past this point. Once confirmed, you walk through the door, a black velvet curtain sits behind- allowing the Nice Guy guest to open up a surprise. There is a main bar adjacent to the dining room, and around the dining room there are a total of 6 booths- making Nice Guy LA a very intimate and private venue. The Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin private destination is dimly lit with white marble counter tops, low ceilings, seating areas with mixed matched furniture, and wood fixtures throughout. In the far corner there is a sitting lounge, and on the other end of the room sits a piano with a mic for jazz performances that happen throughout the experience. On your way to the bathroom, Nice Guy LA offers a photo booth for guests to enjoy. The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful.

During our dining experience- I can understand why h.wood partner, Adam Koral continues to keep the feel of “knowing everyone” who enters the door at Nice Guy LA to be true. We were personally greeted, escorted to the bar to try 15 amazing mixology prepared cocktails- I recommend the Spicy Sienna and the Jojo. (Pictured).

Executive Chef John Carlos Kuramoto developed an unforgettable menu- made up of small plates, large plates, pizza, veggies, and desserts. As we were shown to our dinner table, our service staff was incredible. They were informing, attentive, and pleasant. If Nice Guy Los Angeles continues to give each that dine in this mafia den, I would not be surprised if the h. wood group may have established their best venue within their brand and created what most hot spots wish to be- and that is exclusive & timeless.
